Footie comment back in 89 New Order, Barnie Getting pumped, England.

We may be the loosing side but the song rocks.

The fact alone that there is a country that chooses NEW ORDER (FFS!) for its national football anthem demonstrates why we love it so much and why we feel at home here…

Couldn’t agree more! Both of us or should i say the three of us..
I think its the best footie song by far

PS Chris Waddle must be Argentinian born in Felling

I mean, what the f$%%$ were they thinking in the FA?
The only one who feels at home is Hooky of course, Bernie has the classic bored look and you have the -definitely not good looking, well dressed or cool at all- middle class, middle age, middle England Gillian and Steve looking totally out of place with the footballers…
And then you see Gascoigne in his prime…agreed on Waddle, I remember we found him extremely cool (the hair…but also the bravado and style in his technique!) as kids.
    BTW, from wiki:
“…..The song was originally announced as being called “E for England”, but the Football Association vetoed the title, realising that it sounded suspiciously like a reference to the drug ecstasy. Allen claimed that his original draft lyrics ran “E is for England, England starts with E / We’ll all be smiling when we’re in Italy…”

    I mean…1990…New Order…Madchester…Hacienda….what did they expect?
(this shit happens ONLY in England…) LoooooL

Gazza in his prime was awesome.
Lineker STILL the gent as always, yet alone back then.
Bernie was a classy player, hence the Liverpool days.
How about Beardsley if you wanna talk middle class?

Indeed only English could have the nerve to do that. But the Brits INVENTED football after all, so…
