Dire Straits were a British rock band that formed in Deptford, London, in 1977 by Mark Knopfler, his younger brother David Knopfler, John Illsley, and Pick Withers.

This comes before they made their success internationally, back in 1979: Communique, @ 2:25 their finest moment for us.
